Crime Blotter - Wanted Subject in Bishop

BISHOP (News Release) - At approximately 9:31 am on Sunday, May 1, 2022, a Bishop Police Department Patrol Supervisor was on patrol in the 200 block of S. Cedar St, when he observed a Disturbance (In-Progress) in the area of 201 S. Birch Street in Bishop.

Contact was made with the subjects involved and during the subsequent investigation it was determined one of the subjects involved provided officers with a fictitious name. The subject, who originally identified himself as “Jesse”, was later positively identified as Jack Herwig D.O.B 05/09/1964.

Herwig was found to have an active arrest warrant for Fraud out of Bexar County and he was taken into custody on scene without incident.

Herwig was later transported to the Nueces County Jail on charges of Failure to Identify (Fugitive) and the outstanding arrest warrant for Fraud.
