At-Large Councilman Elected President of the Association of Hispanic Municipal Officials

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) - Roland Barrera, At-Large Councilman, was elected as the President of the Association of Hispanic Municipal Officials (AHMO) on Thursday, October 30. He will serve a one-year term.

The Association of Hispanic Municipal Officials (AHMO) is a 34-year-old organization that provides its members with a platform to share information about trends affecting Hispanic city officials through various communication channels. AHMO is an affiliate group of the Texas Municipal League, serving to represent and promote the interests of the Hispanic community.

Before he was elected President of AHMO, he served for two years as its Vice President. His term as President is effective immediately.

“This dual role also allows me to build bridges — connecting local leadership with state-level advocacy and creating more opportunities for collaboration and mentorship among Hispanic officials,” said Councilman Roland Barrera. “I want to make sure our voices are heard and that we’re sharing solutions that truly benefit our communities.”
