Council Approves Contract Amendment for North Beach Projects

 

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – (News Release) At the June 25th, regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the City Council approved an amendment to the professional services contract with Lockwood, Andrews & Newman, Inc. This amendment authorizes an additional $473,604 for the design, bid, and construction phase services for significant infrastructure projects on North Beach in Council District 1. This amendment brings the total contract value to $1,254,408.

The scope of work under this amendment includes the following projects:

  • Design, bid, and construction services of Beach Avenue improvements from East Causeway Boulevard to the beach.

  • Design, bid, and construction services of Gulfspray Avenue improvements from East Causeway Boulevard to the beach.

  • Design services for the North Beach Eco Park.

Funding for these projects is available through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Grant Funds for FY 2024.

“Today’s approval of additional funding for North Beach infrastructure projects marks a significant step forward,” said Mayor Paulette Guajardo. “These improvements, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, will enhance our community and showcase our commitment to sustainable development.”
