CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) – The City of Corpus Christi announces the restructuring of the Neighborhood Services Department. The three divisions affected are Code Enforcement, Grant Monitoring, Housing and Homelessness, and Animal Care Services.

Effective Thursday, June 1, Code Enforcement will become a division of the Development Services Department. Grant Monitoring, Housing, and Homelessness will become a Planning and Community Development Department division. The divisions will continue to operate with current funding sources, including the General Fund and grant dollars.

Animal Care Services will become a stand-alone City Department. The recruitment of a Director of Animal Care Services will begin next week. The City will also conduct an operational review of the department with prior approved funding in the FY 2023 operating budget.

The restructuring is designed to improve the divisions' performance, responsiveness, and effectiveness.
