Corpus Christi - Markle Returning as Chief of Police

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) – City Manager Peter Zanoni announced that Mike Markle will soon return to lead the men and women of the Corpus Christi Police Department once again. 

“Chief Mike Markle asked me to return to the City as Police Chief. I accepted his request and was excited to do so,” City Manager Peter Zanoni said. 

Markle’s Police Chief re-appointment by the City Manager requires City Council confirmation and will be placed on next week’s City Council Agenda on Tuesday, July 27. 

“We welcome him back with open arms,” Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo said. “His 32 years of law enforcement experience and unprecedented progress will ensure the safety of our residents.” 

Markle’s first day back on the job will be Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
