Corpus Christi Fire Department Welcomes Next Generation Firefighting Technology

City of Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) – The Corpus Christi Fire Department announced the arrival of the most advanced firefighting helmet technology introduced in the last 30 years, provided by Qwake Technology.

Designed to enhance firefighter safety and performance, Qwake Technology helps firefighters navigate, communicate, and operate in zero-visibility environments where seconds matter most. The C-THRU platform uses advanced computer vision paired with enhanced visual technology to provide critical, real-time information during emergency operations.

The Corpus Christi Fire Department was selected as one of 10 fire departments nationwide to serve as a “Pioneer Department” in implementing this cutting-edge technology.

“At the Corpus Christi Fire Department, we understand the importance of protecting our firefighters while equipping them with the most up-to-date tools available,” said Fire Chief Brandon Wade. “The Qwake helmet was designed by firefighters, for firefighters, and we are excited to see how this will enhance safety and set a new standard in firefighting capabilities.”

CCFD currently has 16 Qwake helmets at 10 different stations citywide.
