CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - The City Council accepted and approved funds granted to the City of Corpus Christi through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) in the amount of $67,553,894.
The American Rescue Plan Act provides funding to state, local and tribal governments to help respond to the impact that COVID-19 had on their communities, residents, and businesses.
The funds received by the City will be used for infrastructure projects, including;
Citywide Waterline Replacement $30,000,000.
Citywide Wastewater Lift Station Upgrades $18,400,000.
Citywide Stormwater Improvements $10,000,000.
North Beach Drainage Improvements $5,000,000.
Construction of Fire Station #3 $4,050,000.
Downtown Outdoor Dining Development $100,000.
“These funds are an important part of our City’s economic recovery. The physical improvements to our City infrastructure will help support future growth while benefiting our residents today,” said Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo.
The use of the ARPA funds for these projects will help minimize future utility rate increases and provide needed infrastructure improvements.
