Collaboration leads to Apprehensions

EDINBURG (News Release) – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol (RGV) agents arrested 45 migrants at three locations with the assistance of local partners. 

On Oct. 28, RGV agents received information that a residence in Mission was harboring smuggled migrants.  Agents responded to the location with Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office and encountered 13 migrants illegally present in the United States.  The migrants were identified as nationals of Central America and Mexico.

On Oct. 27, RGV agents received information that a residence in McAllen was harboring smuggled migrants.  Agents responded to the location with Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office and encountered 26 migrants illegally present in the United States.  The migrants were identified as nationals of Central America and Mexico. 

Also on Oct. 27, Brownsville Border Patrol Station agents observed suspicious activity and attempted to conduct a vehicle stop on a black Jeep in Brownsville. The vehicle failed to yield and led the agent on a vehicle pursuit. The driver stopped momentarily and six subjects fled from the jeep and were apprehended. The Jeep was located abandoned nearby shortly after. The migrants were identified as nationals of Central America and Mexico. The driver was not located. 

Additionally, Falfurrias Border Patrol Station agents made 103 arrests from two failed migrant smuggling events at the Falfurrias Checkpoint.
