City of Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - The City of Corpus Christi Engineering Services Department and the Parks & Recreation Department announce that Phase 1 construction work on the Cole Park Pier Project is underway.

Since the Project Kick-Off event in February, the contractor, JM Davidson, has completed the demolition of the waterside portion of the Cole Park Pier and the existing sidewalk, installed fencing around the construction zone and started delivery of equipment and material required for the new pier construction.

Currently, the contractor is working on demolition of the remaining portion of the pier that is on land and is preparing for the new pier construction. In the coming week, JM Davidson is scheduled to begin the installation of the new Cole Park Pier piles, 59 in total.

The contractor has two barges within the construction site, one barge is being used to support the crane that will perform the installation of the new pier pilings and the other barge is being utilized for equipment and materials transfer.
