City of Corpus Christi Monitoring Lake Levels

City of Corpus Christi Monitoring Lake Levels

Press Release

CORPUS CHRISTI – The City of Corpus Christi is closely monitoring the combined lake levels at Lake Corpus Christi and Choke Canyon Reservoir. A summer and fall of high temperatures and low rainfall has resulted in a steady decrease of combined water level storage capacity.

Currently, the City has not initiated a Stage 1 Mild Water Shortage Watch. At this time, residents can make small, but significant changes in their daily habits to help conserve water. Voluntary actions include:

  • Turn off the water when you brush your teeth, shave or wash your face

  • Wash full loads in your laundry and dish washer

  • Cover pools or hot tubs when not in use to lessen evaporation

As the situation evolves, the City of Corpus Christi will continue to provide updates. For more information visit our water conservation website at cctexas.com/conserve.
