CCPD Impounds 9 Minibikes, Pocket Bikes During Traffic Enforcement Operation

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) - Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department impounded nine minibikes, pocket bikes and motorcycles Friday night during a traffic enforcement operation targeting illegal vehicle activity on public roadways.

According to police, officers with the department’s Violent Crimes Unit observed several motorcycles, minibikes and pocket bikes being operated on a public roadway at about 8:40 pm on May 22. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the group for violations related to the operation of pocket bikes and minimotorbikes under Texas transportation law, along with other traffic violations.

Police said a total of nine vehicles were impounded, and drivers were issued citations at the scene.

The department said it has increased enforcement efforts to address what officials described as an ongoing quality-of-life concern within the community.

Authorities reminded residents to ensure vehicles are street legal and to follow all traffic laws to help keep roadways safe.
