CCPD Needs Your Help Identifying Aggravated Robbery Suspect

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division Robbery Homicide Section developed information that 17 year old Victor Martinez was the suspect involved in the Aggravated Robbery on the 5900 block of Norvel.

With the assistance of the Gang Unit, Victor was picked up and a warrant of arrest was secured by Detectives. Victor Martinez was transported to the City Detention Center for processing.

On May 9, 2023, at 3:50 am, Officers were dispatched to the area of 5900 Norvel Drive in reference to a shooting.

On arrival, officers located a gunshot victim lying in the street and immediately provided medical aid to the victim until medics arrived. The 49-year-old male victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment for life-threatening injuries.

During the officer’s investigation, it was discovered that the victim found the offender inside of his vehicle. The victim confronted the offender and was shot. Officers also found that several vehicles had been burglarized in the 5900 block of Norvel.

The offender fled on foot and has not been located at this time. The offender in the video is described as a Hispanic male, wearing a black hoodie, black shorts, white shoes, and a black backpack.
