City of Corpus Christi
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — (News Release) Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) has received the coveted "Project of the Year" award from the South-Central Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (SCC-AAAE). The award was presented at the chapter's annual conference in May in Wichita, Kansas.
SCC-AAAE represents some of the nation’s largest airports in a region encompassing Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas. This prestigious award celebrates CCIA's transformative Terminal Rehabilitation Project, a collaborative effort led by CCIA alongside City Engineering and Development Services and partners Garver and Spawglass.
The project includes a range of improvements for the passenger experience, such as an outdoor patio with airfield views, a service animal relief area, and a dedicated nursing room. Additionally, it encompasses crucial infrastructure upgrades, including replacing window perimeter seals, HVAC cooling towers, a fire alarm control panel, an electrical generator, and more.
Expected to be completed in 2024, the project signifies CCIA's dedication to providing travelers with a more enjoyable and streamlined experience at Corpus Christi International Airport.
