CC Business and Job Development Corporation (Type A & B) Elect New Officers

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — (News Release) At Oct. 21st regularly scheduled meetings of the Corpus Christi Business and Job Development Corporation-Type A and Corpus Christi B Corporation-Type B Boards, new officers were elected for terms beginning October 1, 2024, and ending September 30, 2025.
The new officers are:
Alan Wilson – President
Diana Summers – Vice-President
Jesus Jimenez – Secretary
Type A (Corpus Christi Business & Job Development Corporation) is a business and job generator voted on and approved by Corpus Christi voters in 2000 for a term of 25 years. The citizens of Corpus Christi approved two projects and dedicated 1/8 of a cent of sales tax collected each towards the development of the Arena facility at the American Bank Conter and major improvements to the Downtown Seawall. An estimated $8 million in sales tax revenue is collected by the fund each year.
Type B (Corpus Christi B Corporation) was approved by voters in 2018 for a term of 20 years and dedicates 1/8 of a cent of sales tax collected towards economic development, streets, and affordable housing. A valued 50% of annual revenues are allocated for economic development, specifically the promotion and development of new and expanded business enterprises to the full extent Texas law allows, up to $500,000 annually is allocated for affordable housing, and the balance of the proceeds are used for the construction, maintenance and repair of arterial and collector streets and roads.
