The rain will continue tonight through Friday morning before ending. Given the hard dry soil from the lack of rainfall over the past several months, there is a potential for this heavy rain to quickly run off producing flash flooding.

ALICE, TEXAS (News Release) - On October 22, 2024, Alice Police Department responded to a burglary in progress at a residence located at 712 E. Hill Street. Upon arrival, officers made entry into the home, where the suspect, later identified as David Uribe III, attempted to evade capture by breaking through a glass window and fleeing into the backyard.

Officers immediately pursued the suspect, but lost sight of him in the vicinity of Loma Street. The Criminal Investigation Division quickly deployed a drone to assist in the search. The drone successfully located the suspect standing beside a home on Loma Street.

David Uribe III was subsequently arrested without further incident and transported to the Jim Wells County Jail, where he is being held pending charges.
