BPD Deploys Mobile Surveillance & Crime Prevention Trailer

Bishop Police Department

BISHOP, TEXAS - (News Release) After an attempted burglary and several cases of criminal mischief were reported at the Bishop City Park, the Bishop PD deployed their new mobile surveillance trailer in the area.

This trailer, funded 100% by asset forfeiture funds, has multiple pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ) cameras that are recorded and accessible by law enforcement 24/7, as well as advanced license plate recognition (ALPR) technology and 2 way communications capabilities.

BPD saw an immediate reduction in criminal activity in and around the area in the months following the deployment. Now, as part of an expanded crime prevention program, they would like to offer this tool to the local businesses, churches, schools, and neighborhoods, that may have concerns over criminal activity or property crimes in the area.

If you would like to request a temporary deployment in your area, please email at:

Subject Line: Mobile Surveillance Trailer Deployment Request.

Please provide your name, contact information, the location of the deployment request, and a brief summary of the criminal activity in the area that you believe this would help prevent or reduce.

An important part of their mission is to work in partnership with members of the community, while utilizing innovative technologies and policing strategies to reduce crime and the fear of crime in the community.
