Body Recovered at Rockport Harbor

At approximately 1 pm yesterday, The Rockport Police Department received a report of a body in the water at Rockport Harbor. There is no known threat to public safety. The identity of the male subject is known but not being released at this time.

Premilary information suggest that the deceased was fishing from a pier prior to the incident. It is unclear how the male ended up in the water. An investigation is being conducted by interviewing witnesses, canvassing the area, and reviewing available surveillance footage.

The cause of death is pending the medical examination.
