BISHOP - (News Release) The Bishop Police Department will be participating in TXDOT’s Impaired Driver Immobilization (STEP) Program beginning March 4th through the 20th.

Bishop PD Officers will begin working this grant in designated high traffic areas of the city, to include most of U.S. Highway 77 South between County Road 10 and the Nueces / Kleberg County line, Business Highway 77 Northbound and Southbound, Interstate Highway 69 North and many surface streets near those highways listed.

The overall goal of participating in this IDM-STEP program from TXDOT is to increase public safety for citizens through education, deterrence, and voluntary compliance.
