Bishop PD Makes Arrest in Child Death Investigation

BISHOP (News Release) - Earlier last week, the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death of two (2) year old Elias Albiar a Homicide.

This afternoon criminal investigators from Bishop PD and Texas DPS Rangers obtained an arrest warrant for Murder on the father of the victim in this case, identified as 39-year-old Eleazar Omar Perez.

Shortly after 5pm on Friday, July 21, 2023, Perez was located at a residence in the 400 block of W 3rd Street in Bishop, Texas and was arrested without incident by Bishop PD Shift I patrol officers.

Perez was later transported to the Nueces County Jail, where he remains on an $800,000 bond.

This case is still an active criminal investigation and additional arrests, or criminal charges are possible.
