Bailout Near Bishop - Suspect Still at Large


 

BISHOP (News Release) - At approximately 3 pm on Wednesday, December 15, Nueces County Precinct 3 Constable Deputies assigned to the Nueces County District Attorney's Criminal Interdiction Unit initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of U.S. Highway 77 and County Road 16, in Southern Nueces County.

While speaking to the driver the subject put the truck in gear and fled the scene, traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 77 at a high rate of speed.

A vehicle pursuit ensued and the suspect fled on U.S. Highway 77 into Kleberg County, before later turning around and going back into Nueces County.

The suspect drove into a field in the area of U.S. Highway 77 and County Road 4 and bailed out into the brush.

Bishop Police Department, along with law enforcement officers from U.S. Border Patrol, Texas D.P.S, Nueces County District Attorney's Office, Nueces County Sheriff's Office, Kingsville Police Department and Kleberg County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene to assist and were able to quickly set up a perimeter.

Despite having multiple K9’s units on scene, the brush was too thick and the driver was able to avoid detection.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male 5-05 to 5-06 tall, wearing a black and gray hoodie with dark jeans.
