Badgers set to face Goliad after win over HMK

A delayed start to the football season didn’t stop Bishop from running on the Bulls parade, as the Badgers took a 33-0 victory to spoil H.M. King’s homecoming game last Friday night.
Isaiah Rodriguez ran wild on the Brahma’s defense, racking up 164 of Bishop’s 204 rushing yards on 15 carries. He added three receptions for 91 yards and had three touchdowns on the night.

Badger quarterback Manny Pina was 10-for-16 for 222 passing yards and tossed a pair of touchdowns to Sean Garza and Brendon Ray.
The Badger defense shutout the Brahmas and held them to under 200 all-purpose yards in the contest.
Bishop Head Coach Louie Rodriguez said he “felt great” after the win over HMK on Friday, and considered it a “huge step in the right direction.”
“We've been waiting since November just to play an actual game because (the loss to) Industrial left a sour taste in our mouth and you know we're trying to be legendary this year,” Rodriguez said. “We got 13 more games to go just to make that accomplishment because we want to win the district title and a state title with academic excellence, character, and integrity. So, we're just ready to roll man.”
Up next for the Badgers is a matchup against a 2-1 Goliad squad, fresh off a 43-40 win over George West.
This season, Goliad has scored at least 20 points in each of its three games, 43 being the most so far.
Although Goliad has played more games to this point, Rodriguez said his team is more than capable of continuing success next week, despite the limited sample size of games.
“We just got to get better. Because if we can just sharpen up our stuff, sharpen up our offense, sharpen up our defense and fundamentals, and technique, we're going to be really, really good,” Rodriguez said. “And what's scary is that we started with wins, but there's (still) a lot of improvement to do. Those kids are doing a phenomenal job and if we just keep getting better, we're going to be really, really good.”
The Badgers travel to Goliad Friday night to take on the Tigers with a kick-off time of 7:30 p.m.
