KINGSVILLE - March 10, 2021 at approximately 5:20 am a male subject wearing a hooded jacket jumped in the rear seat of a vehicle occupied by a Kingsville resident who was leaving Clydesman Fitness (604 East Kleberg). The suspect jumped out of the vehicle after the resident was able to create a scene by yelling at the male and honking the horn of the vehicle causing other individuals to exit the gym. It was discovered two male suspects had burglarized three other vehicles in the parking lot. City of Kingsville personnel began to pull video from several different locations in the area of the suspects.
At approximately 12:39 pm, the City of Kingsville employee observed the two suspects he had seen in the videos standing in front of the Sunny Market (1013 South 14th Street). Patrol officers responded to the area and made contact with one juvenile male subject and one adult identified as twenty-year-old London Perez. The juvenile and Perez were detained and in possession of two stolen firearms that were taken during the vehicle burglaries.
The juvenile was detained and transported to a juvenile detention center. Perez was transported to the Kleberg County Jail where he was booked for the following charges:

  1. Burglary of a Vehicle with two or more convictions X 3

  2. Theft of a Firearm

  3. Fail to ID Fugitive give False Information

  4. Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon

  5. Burglary of Vehicle – Motion to Revoke Probation Violation

The juvenile and Perez were also involved in a high speed chase with the Kleberg County Sheriff’s office earlier that morning that ended when the suspects crashed near the area of Santa Rosa and West Corral. The vehicle being driven was later determined to be stolen out of the city of Falfurrias.

There are still items that were recovered from the suspects that have yet to be identified by a property owner. Please contact Kingsville Police Department Detective Joe Michalski if you discover property missing from your vehicle during the periods on the morning of March 10, 2021.
