RGV Agents Arrest Multiple Gang Members and Sex Offenders

EDINBURG – (News Release) Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector Border Patrol agents arrested three migrants with prior convictions for sexual crimes and three gang members.
On March 2, a McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) processing agent encountered a 54-year-old Salvadoran national whose records checks indicate he is a Paisas gang member.
Later that evening, criminal records checks conducted on a Honduran national revealed he was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual assault of a child 13-16 years old in Waukegan, Illinois in 2012. He was sentenced to 180 days incarceration and 24 months’ probation. He was subsequently removed from the United States.
On March 3, RGV agents conducting records checks identified a Honduran subject as a sex offender with a prior arrest in 2016 for Lewd or Lascivious Acts with a Minor, in Florida. He was subsequently sentenced to 12 months’ probation.
Later that day, Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station agents apprehended a group of two migrants near Roma, Texas, and transported them to the station for processing. Records checks on a Salvadoran national revealed he is an 18th Street gang member.
On March 4, Fort Brown Border Patrol Station agents conducted records checks on Santos Sanchez Aldiniz, a Mexican national, apprehended with a group of three migrants in Brownsville, Texas. His criminal history revealed he is a sex offender convicted for aggravated sexual assault of a child in 2013 out of Houston, Texas. He was subsequently sentenced to 3 years confinement.
That same day, MCS processing agents discovered a Salvadoran national whose record checks revealed he is an Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member with no previous arrests in the U.S.
