Aransas Pass Myrtle Fire 100 Percent Contained

Aransas Pass - A large brush fire started near Myrtle Avenue around 1 pm yesterday, Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

Aransas Pass Police Department asked resident at the Aransas Bay RV Park to evacuate and temporarily shelter at the Aransas Pass Civic Center.

KIII TV 3 reported that “the fire burned mostly brush and began around the Lamont Street and Maddox Avenue area on Wednesday afternoon. Around 2 p.m., the fire was about 20 acres and was moving west toward Bypass 35.”

The Myrtle fire consumed nearly 80 acres of brush and is now 100 percent contained.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
