Alice Woman Charged in PTA Theft Case

ALICE, TEXAS (News Release) - A monthlong investigation by the Alice Police Department has resulted in the arrest of a woman accused of stealing and forging funds connected to a local Parent Teacher Association, with additional charges filed in a separate investigation involving money raised for children's medical expenses.

Erika Charles Reeve was arrested and charged with forgery and theft of property valued at $2,500 or more but less than $30,000, according to the Alice Police Department. The charges stem from an investigation into allegations of missing funds associated with the Schallert PTA.

Police said Reeve was arrested at her residence without incident and taken to the Alice Police Department for processing before being transferred to the Jim Wells County Sheriff's Office. She remained in custody at the Jim Wells County Jail as of Monday.

Detectives also concluded a separate investigation involving funds raised to help two young boys with medical expenses. Authorities said two additional charges of exploitation of a child, elderly individual, or disabled individual have been filed against Reeve. Those warrants are expected to be served while she is in custody.

The Alice Police Department said it remains committed to conducting thorough investigations and pursuing criminal charges when supported by evidence.

Police also recognized Lt. Enrique Saenz and the department's Criminal Investigation Division for their work on the case.
