RGV Agents Arrest Five Gang Members

EDINBURG – (News Release) Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents arrested four Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) and an 18th Street gang members over several days.
On March 21, McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents apprehended a group of 16 migrants south of Mission. At the station, record checks revealed a Salvadoran national as an MS-13 gang member with a previous arrest warrant, issued in 2021, for aggravated homicide.
On the same day, Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station agents apprehended a group of 91 migrants in Roma. The migrants were primarily nationals of Central America and Cuba. Amongst the group, was a Salvadoran national whose record checks revealed he is an MS-13 gang member.
On March 24, MCS agents arrested a group of six migrants near McAllen. Record checks on a Salvadoran national revealed his affiliation to the MS-13 gang and criminal history, dating back to 2005, to include five years confinement for homicide.
Also on March 24, MCS agents apprehended a group of 31 migrants near Hidalgo. During processing, record checks revealed a female subject from Honduras was an 18th Street gang member.
Around the same time, MCS agents apprehended a group of nine migrants nearby. From that group, record checks revealed a female Salvadoran national as an MS-13 gang member.
All subjects were processed accordingly.
