Robstown Police Department

ROBSTOWN, TEXAS (News Release) - Robstown police investigated a report involving a student who displayed a firearm on social media while making threats of retaliation related to the recent murder of a friend, authorities said.

Police said the report was forwarded by the Robstown Independent School District Police Department. Officers contacted the homeowner at a residence in the 1200 block of Kansas Street and conducted an investigation, during which they determined that credible, imminent threats had been made.

During the investigation, officers located the firearm inside the residence that was shown in the social media video, police said. No injuries were reported.

Police reminded parents and guardians to closely monitor their children’s social media activity, noting that displaying firearms online can prompt a law enforcement response when public safety is at risk.
