KPD Investigating Gunshot Incident

Kingsville Police Department

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS (News Release) - The Kingsville Police Department is actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the 700 block of West Santa Gertrudis.

Officers responded to a call where a male was found with a gunshot wound and a second individual sustained what appeared to be a serious leg injury. Both subjects were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Preliminary investigation indicates the incident may be connected to a disturbance that occurred last week involving some of the same individuals.

During the investigation, officers recovered a handgun from the roadway, along with multiple shell casings of two different calibers, suggesting that at least two firearms were involved in the exchange of gunfire. Investigators believe at least one firearm connected to the incident remains outstanding.

Patrol Officers, evidence personnel, and detectives responded to process the scene and continue the investigation. Investigators also obtained surveillance video from nearby businesses and multiple vehicles believed to be involved in the incident were recovered and impounded as evidence.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation.

The Kingsville Police Department encourages anyone with information related to this incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Division or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
