Bishop Police Say No Credible Threat to Community After Incident

BISHOP, TEXAS (News Release) - During the overnight hours, Bishop Police dispatch received a threatening phone call referencing Bishop schools.

The call was traced back to an out-of-state phone number.

As a precautionary, Bishop PD immediately checked the schools campuses within the district.

They also increased patrol presence in and around the school zones early this morning.

The Bishop Police Department has been working in close coordination with Bishop CISD leadership and the Bishop CISD Police Department. Authorities confirmed they are also collaborating with appropriate out-of-state law enforcement partners and utilizing regional and state intelligence resources to review and follow up on information received.

Police officials emphasized that while no threat has been identified, incidents of this nature are taken seriously and handled with caution, coordination, and professionalism.

The department stated it will continue working closely with Bishop CISD and remain vigilant. Any information that impacts public safety will be shared through official channels.

Residents are encouraged to report anything suspicious to law enforcement.
