4 Children Chosen as Firefighters for the Day

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - On Monday, October 23, 2023, four children at Incarnate Word Academy had the chance to be a "Firefighter for the Day".
This experience is aimed to educate children about the fire department career, fire safety, and foster a strong bond between the community and firefighters. "Firefighter for the Day" was an auction item donated by Corpus Christi Fire Department at a Texas State Aquarium benefit event.
The day began with a thrilling surprise as the young participants were picked up from their home in a fire truck and taken to school. In the afternoon, Incarnate Word Academy students were able to learn about fire safety, explore the fire equipment and trucks, and Say NO to drugs.
After the presentations, the adventure continued for the 4 children, they were picked up by the fire truck and taken to Fire Station#1. At their fire station visit, they were allowed to explore the fire station and get a closer look at additional emergency vehicles and equipment.
