$19.8 Million for Neighborhood Street Reconstructions
City of Corpus Christi
CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - Corpus Christi City Council awarded construction contracts to Bay Ltd. and Grace Paving and Construction, Inc., both of Corpus Christi. The contracts are for the FY 2022 Residential Street Rebuilt Program (RSRP).
The RSRP is a citywide program that aims to extend the life and structural integrity of existing street pavement through rehabilitation or reconstruction. These street improvements may include sidewalk repairs, ADA ramps, striping, and pavement markings.
FY2021 RSRP totaled $30 million and repaired 55 residential streets. The FY2022 RSRP is $19.8 million and will complete the reconstruction or rehabilitation of approximately 43 streets.
The city has $122,300,760 in the Fiscal Year 2022 budget to fund programs to repair or reconstruct the roadways. This proposed project will place into production 100% of the funding that was earmarked for the Residential Street Repair Program.
Contracts totaling another $11 million for the FY2022 Street Preventive Maintenance Program (SPMP) will be considered by City Council in January. The SPMP will address 23 streets in FY2022 with City forces as well.
