CORPUS CHRISTI – Let’s play ball! Register today for the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department’s Fall 2020 Adult Softball League. The season runs from November 16 through the week of December 14, 2020. All games for this eight-game season will be double hitters played at the Greenwood Softball Complex, located at 4501 Greenwood Drive.

The league offers four divisions with the following schedule:

  • Co-Ed Division League games for men and women will be held on Mondays.

  • Church Division League games for local church teams will be held on Mondays.

  • Men’s Division League games will be held on Thursdays.

  • Industrial Division League games for men will be held on Thursdays.

In order to do so, we encourage parents, athletes, coaches, and all our guests to join us in returning to play responsibly by learning our new ground rules. New rules include staggered games start times; no sharing of equipment, unless properly sanitized; expanded dugouts to allow for social distancing; participants not required to wear face covering while in field of play but may be worn as desired. High School Baseball League Registration Is Open

This is a team concept league that is limited to 15 players per team. Two boy divisions are eligible to participate; (18 & Under Varsity Division) and (16 & Under Sub Varsity Division).

The Corpus Christi Park & Recreation Department will offer its Fall 2020 High School Baseball League from October 5–November 8, 2020. This is a team concept league that is limited to 15 players per team. Two boy divisions are eligible to participate; (18 & Under Varsity Division) and (16 & Under Sub Varsity Division).

Players will gain a better understanding of baseball and improve their skills through weekly practice and competition against other teams. Valuable life skills will also be learned through this structured team sport.

REGISTER ONLINE now through September 20 for $550/team. LATE ONLINE REGISTRATION will be held from September 21–27, 2020, for $575/team. The team fee includes the umpire fees, but not the team shirts.

AUSTIN - The Office of the Governor and Baseball Hall-Of-Famer, Nolan Ryan today released a new public service announcement (PSA) entitled, "Don't Be A Knucklehead." In the PSA, Ryan encourages all Texans to follow effective health and safety protocols like washing their hands, social distancing, and wearing a mask.

Sports Camps Offered This Summer

The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting registration for its seven different Summer Youth Sports Camps to be held from June 15 to August 6, 2020 for boys and girls ages 6-16.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting registration for its seven different Summer Youth Sports Camps to be held from June 15 to August 6, 2020 for boys and girls ages 6-16. These camps take place in safe, fun, and supervised settings at the Corpus Christi Gym (3202 Cabaniss Parkway), and Greenwood Sports Complex (4501 Greenwood Drive). 

We will be offering Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Volleyball, Cheer, and Dance camps. These camps introduce children to the fundamental skills of the different sports and instructs them on rules and skill development for each sport.

All instructors are highly trained and experienced professionals who are enthusiastic about their sport. Each instructor looks to impart structure, discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play in our youth.

ONLINE REGISTRATION is open now until the first day of each camp at www.ccparkandrec.com (click ‘Register Online’)The cost is $70 per camp per youth.

New safety processes have been implemented to comply with COVID-19 prevention. Children will have their temperatures taken at the door prior to sign-in. Summer 2020 Youth Sports Camps Schedule:

Basketball Camps (8) with professional instruction by Roy De La Peña will be offered for boys and girls ages 8-16 of all levels as follows: June 15–18 from 1–4 pm, June 22–25 from 1–4 pm; June 29–July 2 from 1–4 pm; July 6–9 from 1–4 pm; July 13–16 from 1–4 pm; July 20–23 from 1–4 pm; July 27–30 from 1–4 pm; August 3-6 from 1–4 pm.

Volleyball Camps (5) with professional instruction by Tommy Rios for boys and girls ages 8-16 from 9 am–12 pm of all levels as follows: June 15–18; June 29–2; July 13–16; July 27–30; and August 3–6.

Cheer with professional instruction by Lyndsey Rios for boys and girls ages 6-16 will be offered on June 22–25 from 9 am–12 pm.

Baseball Camp with professional instruction for boys and girls ages 8-16 will be offered on June 22–25 from 9 am–12 pm.

Softball Camp with professional instruction by Paula Salinas for boys and girls ages 6-16 from 9 am–12 pm will be offered on June 22–25 and July 20–23.

Soccer Camp with professional instruction by Ifiok Ofong for boys and girls ages 6-16 from 9 am–12 pm will be offered on June 29–July 2 and July 13–16.

Dance Camp with professional instruction by Lyndsey Rios for boys and girls ages 6-16 will be offered on July 6–9 from 9 am–12 pm.
