The Javelina Academic Multiculturalism Showcase (JAMS), a group comprised of students enrolled in the EDAD 5334 Multicultural Education for Educators and EDIT 5316 Instructional Design courses, is hosting a community escape room event titled “You Can’t Escape History” on Saturday, April 29, from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Texas A&M University-Kingsville’s Jernigan Library. Faculty, staff and students will have an opportunity to preview the escape rooms the day before on Friday, April 28, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Three in-person escape room experiences will be available featuring artifacts and materials from the South Texas Archives. For those who cannot make the in-person event, three virtual escape room experiences are available to complete.
The Saturday event is free and open to the public, though an escape room reservation must be made at https://jams.rsvpify.com/. The team with the best completion time for the in-person event will be awarded a “Golden Javelina” trophy. Campus tours will also be available on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, starting at the front of College Hall.
