Warbirds Over South Texas 2024

On Saturday, November 16th, USS Lexington Museum guests will witness some of the most iconic, historic WWII aircraft, fly over the Flight Deck of the retired WWII aircraft carrier. Guests who mention at the admissions booths, on Saturday, November 16th, that they are attending for the fly over, will receive a $3 discount off general admission to the museum.

The fly over is part of the Warbirds Over South Texas event held Saturday, November 16th through Sunday, November 17th at the Aransas County Airport. The free event will have Warbirds, featuring trainers, transport, fighter, and bomber aircraft from the 1940s on display, with vendor booths and food trucks. Attendees have the opportunity to purchase rides in the Warbirds, including a SNJ/Texan- similar to the plane in Hangar Bay II in the USS Lexington Museum, the Navy’s advanced trainer aircraft used from the late 1930s throughout the 1950s, considered to be the most successful training aircraft ever designed.
