Viking Band Camp

For young students who have at least two years of experience playing a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument, Del Mar College’s Music Department has scheduled a four-day, fun-filled summer camp, the 2024 Viking Band Camp, at the Heritage Campus June 10-13.

Participants will experience making music with DMC world-class faculty and other distinguished music educators from around the Coastal Bend with daily band rehearsals in Richardson Performance Hall. Organizers also have planned some other fun activities, including Viking Movie Day, an ice cream social and dance as well as Band Olympics (see the full schedule and more camp details). The Viking Band Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day; and cost for the camp is $175, which covers tuition, daily lunch, sheet music and folder, name badge and schedule, bottled water, camp tee shirt and snacks during the planned social activities. Online registration is available. Camp participants will perform a final concert on Thursday, June 13, from 3 to 4 p.m. in Richardson Performance Hall.
