On Saturday, June 19, 2021, from 10am to 12pm, Project H.O.P.E (Health Outreach Prevention Education), CASA Brush Country, and Community Action Corporation of South Texas will be hosting a community resource drive-thru in the Boys and Girls Club of Alice parking lot.
These local agencies are working together to emphasize how social determinants of health such as the use and misuse of substances, child abuse, and teen pregnancy overlap and affect an individual’s wellbeing. Prevention education is committed to empowering our youth and community members to use the tools and information they receive to make healthy decisions.
In addition to disseminating local agency information within Jim Wells County, this event will be distributing food in partnership with CC Produce. “We would like to invite the public to our mobile mercado where we will be distributing food till supplies last,” states Max Guzman, Mobility Manager with the Rural Economic Assistance League.
