Mark your calendar to add “S.P.A.R.K.” (Summer Programs and Recreation for Kids) to your children’s summer activities. The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department will start accepting registration for youth ages 6 through 16 on Friday, May 6. This program fosters an environment where children can learn and grow through physical, recreational, and social engagement. It will operate Monday through Friday from June 6 to July 29.
There will be a variety of fun activities happening all summer long at city recreation centers — from playing pool, foosball, air hockey, and arcade games to getting creative with arts and crafts and outdoor sports, field trips, and so much more! A snack will be provided during each session.
2022 Summer Sites and Schedule:
Lindale Recreation Center: 3133 Swantner Drive
Morning Session (7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
Afternoon Session (12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
Oso Recreation Center: 1111 Bernice Drive
Afternoon Session Only (12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
Joe Garza Recreation Center: 3204 Highland Avenue
Afternoon Session Only (12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
REGISTRATION: All attending youth must be pre-registered before the week starts and be signed in by an adult each day. Online registration will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost is $25 per child for each weekly session. Registration will open at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 6, and remain open until filled. Space is limited, so early registration is strongly encouraged. Scholarships are available for qualifying youth. The Scholarship Application Form will be accessible to download from our website www.ccparkandrec.com starting Tuesday, May 10, and it must be submitted via email to brittanyd@cctexas.com.
