SEAL Team Six member Will Chesney

  • TAMUK Music Building 775 North Armstrong Street Kingsville, TX, 78363 United States (map)

WHAT:  Texas A&M University-Kingsville will host Will Chesney for a Talk + Q&A and book signing. Chesney will discuss his personal journey towards finding his purpose as a Navy SEAL and having to rediscover himself after being medically retired. He will share his experiences and offer valuable lessons on how establishing a clear purpose can motivate and drive teams to achieve their objectives.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A session and a signing for his book No Ordinary Dog, a story about Chesney and his lasting bond with military working dog Cairo during and after hundreds of missions, including Operation Neptune Spear where their SEAL Team successfully eliminated Osama bin Laden.

Chesney is a Texas native who joined the Navy in 2002 and went on to serve most of his career as a member of SEAL Team Six as both an operator and a handler of military working dogs.

A grenade explosion ultimately led to Chesney’s retirement in 2015 after 13 years of service, during which he received various medals and commendations, including a Silver Star and a Purple Heart. Chesney has now directed his attention to helping veterans, like himself, who have suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Many corporations, sports teams and leaders from a spectrum of industries have sought out Chesney to bring his inspirational story to their team building events.

Chesney’s book was a National bestseller and the Seal Team Six story about Operation Neptune Spear is featured on Netflix’s Hunt for Bin Laden series.
