CORPUS CHRISTI – The City of Corpus Christi and the Mayor's Committee on Veteran Affairs will host a Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony to honor and remember service members and civilians killed during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
This year marks the 81st commemoration of the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and the subsequent entry of the United States into World War II. The ceremony includes a parade of colors, veterans' organizations' representatives, dignitaries' remarks, and a special Veteran's Memorial High School Choir performance.
"National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is an opportunity to pay tribute to those that made the ultimate sacrifice that helped preserve the liberty and freedom we enjoy today," Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo said.
