“Nature’s Voices: Poetry and Planet,” a National Poetry Month and Earth Day Celebration hosted by Del Mar College’s Languages Program, Center for Mexican American Studies and DMC Libraries.
Join the Del Mar College Communications, Languages and Reading Department’s Languages Program, the Center for Mexican American Studies and the DMC Libraries for a morning of sessions celebrating Spanish and English poetry and Mother Earth during “Nature’s Voices: Poetry and Planet” on Tuesday, April 21. This free public event recognizing National Poetry Month and Earh Day runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room 218 at White Library on the college’s Heritage Campus. Explore the beauty of the Spanish language, poetry and the natural environment during readings, panel presentations and an interactive poetry translation workshop. Activities include student-led discussions connecting Earth Day (April 22), language and community action to make our planet a better place to live.
