The Corpus Christi Chamber Music Society with support from Del Mar College’s Music Department and the Coastal Bend Community Foundation present a masterclass with saxophonist Timothy McAllister for students from Del Mar College and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in Wolfe Recital Hall on the DMC Heritage Campus at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16. McAllister will provide valuable feedback on participants’ playing during a public masterclass. Considered as today’s most celebrated classical saxophonist, McAllister is soprano chair of the renowned PRISM Quartet and has been hailed as the “YoYo Ma of the saxophone.” The masterclass is free and open to the public to observe and enjoy the talents of area collegiate musicians.
