The Council for Healthy Food Systems is excited to announce the launch of Groundwork: Gulf Coast Farmer Training, a comprehensive, three-month training program designed for beginning and intermediate farmers in the Texas Gulf Coast region. Running from March 24 to June 13, 2025, this hybrid learning experience combines online coursework, live webinars, and hands-on farm events, culminating in a Graduation Dinner on June 14.
With a curriculum designed to address real-world agricultural challenges, Groundwork helps participants develop essential skills in farm planning, soil health, livestock and poultry management, financial sustainability, marketing, and mental health resilience. The program costs
$250, and scholarships are available to ensure accessibility for all who wish to participate.
WHEN: March 24 – June 13, 2025, with a Graduation Dinner on June 14, 2025.
WHERE: Online and at three hands-on farm locations in the Greater Corpus Christi Area (exact locations and dates to be announced).
COST: $250 (Scholarships available).
