Nothing beats the sound of a guitar virtuoso flawlessly performing beautiful repertoire. And, it’s even better when there’s a second guitarist adding an additional layer of compositional complexity to the mix. Fortis, a guitar duo, consists of Dr. Isaac Bustos, Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and Dr. Alejandro Montiel, a faculty member with Sam Houston State University and Lone Star College at Montgomery. First formed in 2021, Fortis will perform a varied program of guitar duos from around the world starting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, in Wolfe Recital Hall on Del Mar College’s Heritage Campus. Admission is free and open to the public. Bring your sweetheart and fill your evening on Valentine’s Day with the lovely sound of guitar melodies.
