Community Meet and Greet with Fire Chief Candidates

The City of Corpus Christi seeks to fill the Fire Chief position for the Corpus Christi Fire Department (CCFD) after former Chief Robert Rocha retired in January after 11 years of service with CCFD.

Upon Chief Rocha’s retirement, the City began a local, state, and national search for fire chief candidates to continue CCFD’s legacy of innovation and dedication to public safety. After an extensive review of potential fire chief candidates, four finalists have been selected.

The City of Corpus Christi will engage the community in the selection process by offering residents an opportunity to meet the four finalists, ask questions, and learn more about their respective qualifications.

The community meet and greet for this event will be held on Thursday, March 16, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The event will take place in the Rotunda Ballroom at the Selena Auditorium. Free parking throughout the evening will be available in “Lot 2” of the American Bank Center’s parking lot.

The City received 28 applications for the Fire Chief position, from which nine semi-finalists were interviewed. From the nine interviewees, four finalists were selected for the final round of interviews.
