For friends and family of the Del Mar College Class of Spring 2026, seeing their participating “prospective” graduate walk across the stage is magical. DMC will hold Spring Commencement at the Hilliard Center arena on Friday, May 15, with over 920 out of nearly 1,250 “prospective” graduates participating during the ceremony.
Overall, the college is awarding 1,608 occupational skills awards, certificates, associate’s degrees and bachelor’s degrees combined to the Class of Spring 2026. Among ceremony participants are more than 75 Freedom to Dream Tuition Waiver students from the program’s first cohort (2025-2026). However, before “prospective” graduates take the spotlight, Josiah Ponce, Del Mar College’s first-ever current DMC Dual Credit student and graduating senior at CCISD’s College High School to give the keynote address, will share his message before joining his college peers to receive his Associate in Arts degree in Liberal Arts Friday night before receiving his high school diploma Saturday morning on May 16.
Because ticketed seating is limited and already distributed, DMC will livestream the ceremony on YouTube beginning at 6:30 p.m.
