Del Mar College Jazz Band Performing at 62nd Annual Texas Jazz Festival

Corpus Christi’s annual jazz festival is one of the most anticipated music events of the year with fans of the genre coming from the Coastal Bend, from across the state and even from around the globe. Jazz aficionados won’t want to miss the Del Mar College Music Department’s MWF Jazz Band perform at the 62nd Annual Texas Jazz Festival Friday, Oct. 20, at 6:30 p.m. on the H-E-B South Stage.

A Texas Jazz Festival mainstay, the MWF Jazz Band will perform under the direction of faculty member Dr. Danny Miller. As a side note, DMC Sound Recording Technology (SRT) majors will gain “live sound” experience during the Texas Jazz Festival scheduled Oct. 20-21 at Corpus Christi’s Heritage Park. The Live Sound class, which is taught by Melon Sound owner and DMC Adjunct Instructor Andrew Gonzales, will set up stage sound equipment, run sound checks and operate the sound board during the three-day festival, providing SRT majors with real-world experience in sound recording technology.
