Grow Local South Texas is excited to announce the start of their annual Winter Markets.
Every Wednesday, for the 3 weeks before Christmas, shoppers will enjoy a great variety of local vendors, food trucks, live music, and more.
The Winter Markets add special Vendors to increase the opportunities for the public to shop locally for presents. In addition, Grow Local Farmers’ Market welcomes SNAP EBT customers to shop with eligible food vendors every week. For every dollar spent with your EBT card, customers will receive a matching bonus in Double Up Food Bucks Vouchers, up to $30 per market, and bonus Double Up Fresh Bucks Vouchers, up to $20 per market, while funding lasts.
December at the Market – A Month Full of Fun and Flavor
December 3: Cooking Demo with Chef Gretchen Stinson - Starts at 6 pm. Join for a delicious evening with Chef Gretchen Stinson from Serendipity Mini Farm. Learn new cooking tips, enjoy fresh samples made with ingredients straight from our market, and take home a recipe card to try later. All dishes will feature SNAP-eligible ingredients you can find right at the market. it’s also Pajama Party Day! Slip into your coziest festive pajamas or onesie and wander the market in comfort while picking up Winter treats and gifts.
December 10: Storybook Character Day - Celebrate imagination and fun by dressing up as your favorite storybook character. Perfect for the young and young at heart. Enjoy Cookies, Cocoa, and caroling provided by First United Methodist Church as you shop and make magical market memories.
December 17: Santa Visits Grow Local Farmers’Market & Winter Music Day - Bring the family to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, and capture the moment with a Winter photo. The Sea Breeze Singers Barber Shop Quartet will fill the air with classic Christmas tunes you’ll want to hum along to. Inside the Art Center, children and families can write letters to Santa during Family Art Time. An event full of joy and creativity. Grow Local South Texas is integral to supporting community vitality and exemplifying healthy living. The organization continues to build community through the weekly Grow Local Farmers' Market (every Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the Art Center of Corpus Christi).
