The new Corpus Christi Police Academy ribbon cutting is scheduled for November 7. It represents the first custom-built Police Academy for the City of Corpus Christi and quadruples the space of the current academy. The new Academy will include an outdoor track, fitness center, defensive tactics area, men's and women's locker rooms, auditorium, and two classrooms to offer regional training opportunities.
“The Corpus Christi Police Department remains committed to working with our community members to improve the safety and quality of life for all those we serve,” said Police Chief Mike Markle. “We strive to improve citizen interaction by continually updating processes with enhanced technology, advanced equipment, staff increases, superior training, and state-of-the-art infrastructure. Through these advances, we are able to provide the high level of service that citizens need and expect.”
The two-story facility will be located at the Oso Creek Campus of Del Mar College.
