Corpus Christi Chamber Music Society Presents the New York Polyphony

  • Wolfe Recital Hall 101 Baldwin Boulevard Corpus Christi, Texas, 78404 United States (map)

Critically acclaimed for a “rich, natural sound that’s larger and more complex than the sum of its parts” according to National Public Radio (NPR) and as “singers of superb musicianship and vocal allure” as noted by The New Yorker, New York Polyphony is one of the foremost vocal chamber ensembles active today.

And on Saturday, Oct. 24, the Corpus Christi Chamber Music Society (CCCMS) brings the ensemble to Wolfe Recital Hall on Del Mar College’s Heritage Campus for a performance beginning at 7:30 p.m. The ensemble’s innovative programming spans Gregorian chant to contemporary commissions that includes a focus on familiar and rare works of the 12th through17th centuries, bringing early music to modern audiences. Founded in 2006, the quartet’s discography includes two GRAMMY-nominated albums, and many of New York Polyphony’s releases have topped the “best of” lists of major publications. The ensemble tours extensively, performing in some of the world’s finest concert halls and at major festivals at home and abroad.

Tickets are available through the CCCMS at the door the evening of the performance. DMC students with a valid student I.D. may attend free. Visit www.corpuschristichambermusic.org for more details.
