Due to the cold weather, the City of Corpus Christi will open the following facilities as warming centers on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• La Retama Central Library, located at 805 Comanche Street
• Ethel Eyerly Senior Center, located at 654 Graham Road
• Ben F. McDonald Library, located at 4044 Greenwood Drive
• Owen R. Hopkins Library, located at 3202 Mckinzie Road
The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA) will provide free transportation to and from the warming centers for individuals in need.
The following overnight shelter arrangements and other services by partner agencies have been identified for this event as follows:
• The Good Samaritan Ministries at 902 Nueces Bay Boulevard will operate under cold-weather guidelines, accepting individuals unless they have been previously banned.
• The Salvation Army Shelter at 1804 Buford Street is open and following its standard schedule.
• The Mother Teresa Day Shelter at 513 Sam Rankin Avenue is open Monday through Friday beginning at 7:00 a.m., with breakfast served at 8:00 a.m.Shelter clients are being informed of available overnight cold-weather resources.
